Crown Royal x Genius: Green Velvet Music Series

Ahead of the launch of Crown Royal Green Apple, Genius created the Green Velvet Music Video. In the first installation, singer, rapper, and saxophonist Masego performed his song “Sides of Me,’ For the video, Genius Brough Masego together with animator blackpowerbarbie - a multifaceted and still motion artist specializing in 2D animation- for a unique music and visual collaboration. Set against a Crown Royal Regal Apple-inspired animated backdrop, Masego brought his song to life.

“The direction of this piece is an exploration of Black joy through the prism of Crown Royal’s colors,” said blackpowerbarbie. “I wanted to approach the video loops as a journey to compliment Masego’s music.”
